Kate's State Banquet Jewels: the Queen Alexandra Wedding Necklace

The tiara, which Diana reportedly said was so heavy it gave her headaches, is a replica of a former tiara worn by the Queen Mother's grandmother, Princess Augusta of Hesse, who was also the former Duchess of Cambridge (hence the replica tiara's name). Kensington Palace later confirmed it was Queen Alexandra's Wedding Necklace.

Kate has worn the headpiece a number of times including at a diplomatic reception in 2016, and also at a state banquet for King Felipe and Queen Letizia of Spain when they visited Britain a year ago.
