Brett Kavanaugh accuser speaks out about sexual assault allegations

Ford is a professor at Palo Alto University and trains graduate students in clinical psychology, according to the Post. "I hope the attacks and shaming of her will stop and this will be treated with the seriousness it deserves".

At one point, she said, [Kavanaugh's friend Mike] Judge jumped on top of them, and she tried unsuccessfully to wriggle free. "For these and other reasons detailed below, I strongly oppose Judge Kavanaugh's nomination to the Supreme Court".

Kavanaugh last week denied the allegations, which were first reported last week. Kavanaugh was born in 1965, so he would have been a teenager at the time. They have given no indications the allegation will alter their plans. He said the committee's top Democrat, Sen.

Feinstein's apology to Kavanaugh over protesters' frequent interruptions during his confirmation hearing also earned Waters' criticism.

"It raises a lot of questions about Democrats' tactics and motives to bring this to the rest of the committee's attention only now rather than during these many steps along the way".

Ford described to the Post her concern her identity would be revealed anyway as the story snow balled. The call was already scheduled before the allegation emerged and Collins' office declined to provide any details about their discussion. If approved by the committee and the whole Senate, as expected, Kavanaugh is likely to decidedly tilt the court to the conservatives for years to come.

Apple's cheaper iPhone XR rocks bright colours

Samsung confirms launch of foldable smartphones this year
The mysterious foldable device, previously codenamed "Valley", was mentioned on a report by The Wall Street Journal last July. The two giants are going for the world's first title , with Samsung appearing to be the favorite in this particular race.

Sen. Orrin Hatch of Utah, a Republican member of the Senate Judiciary Committee, said he won't let Kavanaugh's confirmation be stalled by the allegation, which he called "wholly unverifiable". Susan Collins of Maine, Lisa Murkowski of Alaska, Shelley Moore Capito of West Virginia, Joni Ernst of Iowa, Cindy Hyde-Smith of MS and Deb Fischer of Nebraska.

Blasey spoke to The Washington Post in an exclusive report about the event in question: more specifically, a summer evening in the 1980s in which Kavanaugh was "stumbling drunk" and assaulted her in a bedroom at a party. Kavanaugh allegedly put a hand over the girl's mouth, held her down and attempted to force himself on her. She said she locked herself in a bathroom and the left the house and told no one about anyone of this for 30 years - and even then when she was in couples therapy.

"I categorically and unequivocally deny this allegation, I did not do this back in high school or at any time", he said in a statement. The therapist's notes say there were only two. The notes also say four boys attacked her - but Ford insists this was the therapist's mistake.

His comments came just after a woman, who claimed to be Kavanaugh's former high school classmate, accused him of sexual misconduct that had occurred decades before his nomination. President Donald Trump nominated him in July to replace retiring Justice Anthony Kennedy on the U.S. Supreme Court.

A registered Democrat, Ford contacted her representative in Congress, Democrat Ann Eshoo, around the same time.

According to a source cited by the New Yorker, Feinstein learned of the alleged incident in July and while her staff members mentioned it to other Democratic lawmakers, they did not share the letter with them.
