Police in Cincinnati have reported three people killed and a gunman dead in a shooting at a bank.

The suspect, Omar Enrique Santa Perez, had a pistol and more than 200 rounds of ammunition, police said. The hospital later said on Twitter that two of the four victims had died, another was in critical condition and the fourth was in serious condition.

Another victim was reportedly located inside the nearby Graeter's ice cream shop, next door to the Fifth Third Bank building on Fountain Square.

Al Jazeera contacted the Cincinatti Police Department but did not immediately receive a response.

Leonard Cain told The Cincinnati Enquirer he was going inside the bank when someone alerted him there was shooting. Although people tried to get her attention before she entered the building, she was wearing headphones and did not hear them.

Cincinnati Police released edited clips from security cameras in the building of the gunman with his arm extended randomly shooting at people.

The shooting happened near Cincinnati's landmark Fountain Square.
