Apple to unveil new iPhones in coming weeks

Here are two-along with plenty of grist from the rumor mill.

Besides the Plus size and the fresh color choice, you won't notice other differences between the iPhone XS and the current iPhone X.

The Verge reports that Apple Watches, AirPods, an AirPower charger, iPad Pros, MacBooks and possibly the Mac mini could also be on the receiving end of an update. It looks incredibly busy, and I'm not sure why anyone would need that much information at a glance, but the complications do look sleeker than ever.

Last year Apple held its first keynote at the purpose-built theatre named after Apple founder Steve Jobs.

Myanmar military chiefs should be prosecuted for Rohingya 'genocide': UN investigators
Army chief Min Aung Hlaing had two active Facebook accounts, one boasting 1.3 million followers and the other 2.8 million. The court had been due to deliver a verdict on Monday, but at a brief hearing postponed the hearings until September 3.

Tracking Lane: Major hurricane targets Hawaiian Islands
Computer models mostly do not predict the storm to make a direct hit on the islands, which would be the worst-case scenario. Residents are stocking up on essentials and have been remembering how Hawaii was hit by a devastating hurricane in 1992.

NVIDIA Just Announced The GeForce RTX 20 Series Featuring New Turing Architecture
The Predator Orion 3000 series also comes with up to an eighth-gen Core i7, but with an Nvidia GeForce RTX 2070 GPU. Regardless, those eager to get their hands on one of the new cards as soon as possible can now place a pre-order.

The new iPhones will boast significantly bigger, edge-to-edge screens. Shortly after the company sent out invites and made the event official on Thursday morning, 9to5Mac unearthed two photos that appear to show two of the upcoming iPhone models and a redesigned Apple Watch. New Apple Watches with larger screens are also said to be on the docket.

The names of the new devices are unclear; names from "iPhone X Plus" to "iPhone 11" and even "iPhone 9" have been floated. The company has adjusted for those changes by charging more for each phone - $1,000 for the iPhone X, for example - but is also looking to build up other product lines and its push into services such as entertainment. It's the same strategy used to sell the iPhone 5c, a repackaged version of the iPhone 5 that eschewed the latter's aluminum frame for a plastic one (and was discontinued after a year).

The wholly new iPhone will still be iPhone X inspired by design, but it will come with an LCD screen and be aimed at replacing the iPhone 6 and 5C in the market. The cameras will be improved from the iPhone X and the processors will be faster. Apple usually streams its event live online but if you are unable to tune in, we'll have coverage of the day's events right here on TechSpot.

Apple's clever 3D Touch feature has seen mixed success since its introduction in 2015 with the iPhone 6s.
