Xiaomi Mi A2 said to cost at least $300 in Romania

The Mi A2 and Mi A2 Lite will be rolled out globally starting late July and we expect both models to launch in Malaysia very soon.

Basically, Just like previous year, Xiaomi is reintroducing the Mi 6X as Mi A2 and Redmi 6 Pro as Mi A2 Lite with Google's Android One for Global Markets. On the software front, both devices are running Android 8.1 Oreo, and the fact that they're a part of the Android One platform means they'll be one of the first phones to pick up the Android P update.

Out of the two phones, the Mi A2 is the higher-end device. Xiaomi Mi A2 Lite 3GB RAM and 32GB storage option will cost Euros 179, which 4GB+64GB storage will cost Euro 229.

As for the Mi A2 Lite, this device comes at a starting price of Euro 179 (approximately Rs 14,400) that offers 3GB RAM+32GB internal storage while the high-end variant - that comes with 4GB RAM+64GB internal storage - costs Euro 229 (about Rs 18,500).

Both Xiaomi Mi A2 and Mi A2 Lite will run the latest Android out of the box being Android One smartphones.

Xiaomi Mi A2 specifications Being the worldwide variant of the Mi 6X, the Mi A2 offers pretty much the same specs, with operating system being the only differentiating feature.

In terms of design, the Mi A2 would feature a design similar to the Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 Pro. The 6-inch full-HD display packs a Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 processor with 4GB and 6GB RAM variants respectively. Mi A2 Lite will run Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 processor with a rear dual camera setup. On the back, you'll find a 12-megapixel and 20-megapixel dual-camera system, paired with a 20-megapixel selfie snapper on the front. The battery is a larger 4,000mAh one when compared to Xiaomi Mi A2. The new smartphones are expected to come with multiple options, including 3GB or 4GB RAM, and 32GB or 64GB of inbuilt storage.

Powering the Mi A2 is a modest 3,010mAh battery which supports Quick Charge 3.0 via USB-C.

Xiaomi is live streaming the Mi A2 launch, so you should be able to catch all the updates without missing anything.

Notably, Xiaomi hasn't officially revealed any particular specifications of the two new Mi-Series models, but the rumour mill has reported much about both. One of Xiaomi's most popular phones of previous year was created in partnership with Google, though. The dual rear cameras are aligned horizontally with LED flash tucked in between two camera lens. It is also possible that the Mi A2 and Mi A2 Lite may sport an even lower price tag. At the front end, the device receives a 20MP camera with HDR options and soft selfie light, making it flawless for selfies and video calling.
