Wimbledon set for 'Manic Monday' as 4th round starts

Federer took his tally of consecutive sets won on London's hallowed grass courts to 32 with a 6-0 7-5 6-4 dispatch of risky French left-hander Adrian Mannarino.

Switzerland's Roger Federer has said that he isn't thinking about any Wimbledon records ahead of his match against Kevin Anderson.

Tendulkar, Tendulkar, the former India captain widely renown as one of the greatest batsmen of all time, was impressed by Federer's form after the 20-time Grand Slam champion was spotted praticising his forward defence during his victory over Adrian Mannarino at Wimbledon.

Del Potro saved two break points in the sixth game, a deft chip from the baseline that dipped over the net followed by a forehand victor, before taking the opening set in a 7-1 tiebreak.

Yet Federer quickly snuffed out the danger and broke in the next game before rounding off the match in typically ruthless fashion.

"[He has] this very calm aura that he brings on the court - that even if everything goes wrong, it still seems like everything is ideal and it's okay", said the 6-foot-4 Tsitsipas. "Sometimes the things works better, sometimes worse". Federer has such a good game for grass.

Gulbis has played 3 successive 5-set matches to get this far and is bidding to become just the 6th qualifier to reach the last-8 at Wimbledon.

The top-ranked player in Greece (a career high No. 35), Tsitsipas is hardly alone in studying Federer for tips.

The 22nd seed, humbled by the opening-set bagel, did manage to put up a much sterner challenge in the second, taking it to 5-5.

Maybe then, upon a 13th Grand Slam triumph, which would also be his finest, we will start giving him the credit he is due.

Uruguay vs Portugal | 30 Jun 2018

Serena Williams is set to resume her quest for an eighth Wimbledon title when the women's quarterfinals get underway at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday.

It was tennis for the gluttonous: a feast. In this picture, Nadal of Spain celebrates winning his Men's Singles fourth round match against Jiri Vesely of the Czech Republic on day seven of the Wimbledon Lawn Tennis Championships at All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club in London, July 9, 2018.

All three easily handled outclassed opponents. It shouldn't be a shock, and, "Oh, my God, I can't believe it, I lost a set". The chair umpire intoned "Game, Federer" so frequently, it began to sound like the refrain of a song.

Another straight-set win over Anderson will see the Swiss great better his record run of 34 consecutive sets at SW19, set between the third round in 2005 and the final in 2006.

Clearly dejected, Mannarino said afterward that he wasn't rattled by the Centre Court spotlight or the size of the crowd.

Anderson added that Federer, who won his first Wimbledon title in 2003, is the ideal role model for the sport - and for those players in the chasing pack.

It's hard not to look ahead a few days, for there is a potential semi-final with Nadal and potential final with Federer in the offing. "I'd be surprised if no tennis player feels nervous", he says.

The ICC shared an image of the Test rankings for batsmen which showed the 20-time Grand Slam victor as the number one batsman in the world.
