LeBron James: Joining the Lakers a 'Dream Come True'

According to the Los Angeles Times, James' foundation was the top donor towards the construction of the school and worked with Akron Public Schools to meet all standards and regulations. This is no ordinary school, though.

LeBron James' move to Hollywood is already paying off. The I Promise School is the culmination of almost a decade of work by James' foundation, with its focus on educating children from challenging situations or backgrounds.

Look closely and you'll notice that there is only one of each shoe hanging on the walls. James added that The Shop was partly inspired by his experience as a kid listening to adults in barbershops "talk about sports, clothing, politics, music" and everything else. The show will be produced when James is available to do it, so the episode count and broadcast schedule is open-ended. After all, this is a project he's poured his heart into for almost ten years, and now it's come to fruition.

The addition of James has the potential to put the Lakers back to relevancy in the league after a five-year playoff hiatus. Everything these kids are going through, the drugs, the violence, the guns. Its goal is to focus on the education of at-risk children from disadvantaged situations or backgrounds.

Three dead in New Orleans after gunmen open fire at busy mall
Three of the seven injured people were taken by ambulance to University Medical Center's trauma center, police said. The Advocate's Matt Sledge said one woman on the scene said that one of the victims was her grandson.

The new face of the franchise said as much Sunday in a video on his own site, Uninterrupted. The 33-year-old had previously said he wanted to finish his career in OH, and although he's leaving again, Cavs fans are more forgiving after he ended the city's 52-year sport title drought in 2016.

"I know these kids basically more than they know themselves". I rode the same bikes on the streets that they ride on. "Then it went from just sitting there. then it went from me sitting on the bench to me getting in an argument".

"The excitement that I have to be a Laker, I'm happy to be a part of it because I believe the Lakers (are) a historical franchise - we all know that", James continued.

Who knows? Maybe the next Michelle Obama comes from Summit County, Ohio.
