Melania Trump lands in Arizona, 'looking forward' to touring Border Patrol facility

Just a week after Melania Trump's "Jacket-Gate" - when she wore an insensitive Zara jacket for her visit to the border that said "I Really Don't Care, Do U?"- she has returned to the southern border of the United States, sans a controversial outfit.

The Trump administration's policy of separating children from immigrant parents caught crossing the border illegally has triggered enormous political pressure and public outrage across the country and the world.

US District Judge Dana Sabraw in San Diego ordered border authorities to reunite children with their families within 30 days of the Tuesday ruling, or 14 days if the child is younger than five. Many have yet to be reunited.

Mrs. Trump made the trip in a risk-averse ensemble of a black sweater and white slacks.

Her jacket said in white letters on the back: "I really don't care, do u?"

The choice spawned a slew of speculation about what the first lady, a former model, may have meant. Though Grisham dismissed speculation that the jacket had any "hidden meaning", President Trump later tweeted that it was aimed at the "fake news media".

Sessions and others in the Trump administration have defended the new border policy in recent weeks even as thousands of children were taken from their parents and placed in migrant shelters.

The Trump administration has requested the U.S. military provide shelter for as many as 12,000 people: 55 children from Honduras and El Salvador are in the McAllen detention centre.

"We've really prevented instances of human trafficking where someone show up claiming to be a family unit and then we find out that the children are in no way", he said, "not even a close relation to the adult in custody". The last time, "she wasn't able to visit a DHS facility, and she wants to learn from the people on the front lines at the border", Stephanie said.

The First Lady began visiting the centre after husband, President Donald Trump, came under fire for allegedly separating illegal immigrant parents from their children. When several said they did, she smiled back saying: "Me, too".

Southwest Key is a nonprofit that runs 26 immigrant shelter facilities for children across Texas, Arizona and California.

The visit comes a week after Mrs. Trump travelled to the border town of McAllen, Texas, to meet with officials there dealing with detained families.

Anticipating a trip to Phoenix, protesters also gathered outside the Southwest Key facility in the city's west side.
