Did Celtics Make New Trade Offer To Spurs For Kawhi Leonard?

On the heels of reporting surrounding the Los Angeles Lakers and an aggressive trade pursuit of Kawhi Leonard before LeBron James acts on a player option for the 2018-19 National Basketball Association season, buzz is building that James' arrival in the nation's second-largest market could be dictated by another star (i.e. Leonard or Paul George) coming alongside him. But if only one of LeBron and George signs in Los Angeles and the Spurs won't trade Leonard there, that lone Laker could be stuck on a middling team still too young to compete. But it's contingent on the Spurs, and San Antonio has rebuffed the Lakers' inquiries. So much so that Leonard reportedly has informed teams interested in trading for him that he would likely sign with the Lakers as a 2019 free agent.

On Tuesday, Lakers president of basketball operations Magic Johnson laughed off the idea of being anxious about the pressure to bring superstars to Los Angeles, citing the number of NBA Finals he played in. Oklahoma City Thunder forward Paul George, who has previously expressed a desire to sign with the Lakers, is a free agent, but he could certainly re-sign with OKC.

What exactly would that offer be?

Kyle Kuzma and Brandon Ingram have been featured most prominently in any suggested trade proposals with the Spurs.

SpaceX’s massive Falcon Heavy rocket lands $130 million military launch contract

Trump Dismisses IG Report’s Bias Conclusion as ‘Ridiculous’
President Trump immediately seized on the report to justify his decision to fire Comey just six months after Election Day. Trump added: "It was a pretty good report and then I say that the IG blew it at the very end with that statement".

Japan beat 10-man Colombia to create history
Japan have become the first ever Asian side to defeat South American opposition at the World Cup (P18 W1 D3 L14). Colombia's Carlos Sanchez received a red card for blocking Kagawa's shot on goal with his extended right arm.

Los Angeles will get a better idea on if they have a chance of signing James this summer later this week when the deadline of June 29 approaches for him to opt in or out of his current Cavs deal. And ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski reports the Lakers, for the first time in a while, are willing to take on salary to absorb a first-round pick.

The report does not, however, mention Lonzo Ball. He put up averages of 10.2 points, 7.2 assists and 6.9 rebounds per game as a rookie.

The Leonard rumors are starting to really heat up, and expect the Celtics to be right in the middle of it all until San Antonio actually pulls the trigger.
