Thanos Wipes Out Box Office Competition as Avengers Dominates Week 2

Internationally, the film earned an estimated $162.6 million this weekend, making for a current foreign total of $713.3 million.

The success of Avengers: Infinity War has now pushed the MCU beyond the $16 billion mark combined - and with Infinity War still raking in the cash and Ant-Man and the Wasp still to come this summer, it's possible that the MCU will end the year with $17 billion plus in box office takings.

Now they have directed one of the highest-grossing movies in history and they have another Avengers film on the way in May of 2019.

However, the film lost out to Star Wars: The Force Awakens which grossed an awesome $149 million in its second ever weekend. Per USA Today, Black Panther ($108 million), Star Wars: The Force Awakens ($149.2 million), Jurassic World ($106.6 million) and The Avengers ($103.1 million) are the other movies to pull off the feat. "Rampage" rounded out the top five with $4.6 million, bumping its domestic total to $84.8 million.

It seems likely we'll hear more about availability at Facebook's F8 conference, which begins in San Jose, California today. The Oculus Go is also designed with a lightweight, breathable fabric so that it can be worn for hours at a time.

All together now, the new film from directors Joe and Anthony Russo has made $450.8 million domestically, and $1.16 billion globally.

Black Panther added $3.14 million (GBP2.3 million) to its 12-week haul at seven and is now just $7 million (GBP5 million) from hitting $700 million at the North American box office.
