Rockies roll into NY to face desperate Mets

Wheeler at least provided himself something to build off in his most recent start on Sunday, when he earned the win after allowing two runs over five innings as NY beat the San Diego Padres 14-2.

Desmond hit a pair of solo homers, including a tiebreaking drive in the eighth inning that sent the Rockies over the sagging New York Mets 3-2 Sunday for their season-high fifth straight win.

The Mets just might be desperate enough to bank on the power of proximity Friday night when they open a three-game series against the Rockies at Citi Field. Robles was called up from Triple-A on Saturday when former Mets ace Matt Harvey was designated for assignment.

The offense fired up early once again on this night, as Arenado went deep in the first inning to take the 1-0 lead for the Rockies that they'd hold onto all night long.

NEW YORK (AP) - Ian Desmond's home runs helped more than the Colorado Rockies.

Cohen asked for a delay after Federal Bureau of Investigation agents raided his home and office several weeks ago. The White House has steadfastly denied the affair. "It would be a shame if something happened to her mom".

The Rockies are 9-4 in their last 13 games against the Mets but are 4-13 in their last 17 trips to Citi Field.

From that point on, however, Freeland silenced the Mets, allowing one hit and one walk over the next six innings. NY had just six hits in the final two games and didn't record a hit against Julio Teheran on Thursday until Asdrubal Cabrera's two-out double in the seventh inning. He is 0-2 in his last five starts.

"We're struggling a little bit right now, but we can go on a run tomorrow just like we did to start the season", Syndergaard said. Over their last 11 games, Rockies starters have posted a 1.70 ERA with 10 quality starts.

I am taking the Mets in this matchup. His first homer Sunday cut the Mets' lead to 2-1 in the second inning and his second blast put starting pitcher Kyle Freeland (2-4) in line for the win.

NY jumped on Freeland quickly, scoring two runs in the first inning on three consecutive singles by Juan Lagares, Yoenis Cespedes and Asdrubal Cabrera on Freeland's first seven pitches. A day after clearing deGrom, who sustained a hyperextended elbow on Wednesday, to make his next start on Monday, the Mets placed him on the 10-day disabled list. He left the game after the first inning for what the team originally said was right hip tightness. The move is retroactive to May 3. He hasn't really been deserving of much better, as the right-hander has a 5.46 ERA and 1.57 WHIP through six starts.
