Pentagon IG considering probe of Ronny Jackson allegations

Jackson, President Donald Trump's physician, allegedly shared personal details about Karen Pence's health to some White House staff members and when confronted about the disclosure, intimidated her doctor, according to memos obtained by CNN. Moreover, reports that Jackson is no longer employed as the president's physician are only partially accurate, Carter reports.

Tom Crosson, a Defense Department spokesman, said Monday that the Pentagon's inspector general has received the allegations and is looking into the issue further to see if a formal probe is necessary.

The probe threatens to derail Jackson's future with the Navy. That promotion remains pending with the Senate Armed Services Committee, documents show.

Jackson learned about his nomination just a day or two before it was made public, one official told CNN - a sign of inadequate vetting that continues to plague the Trump administration's nominations.

It has been confirmed by a White House official that Ayers indeed told John Kelly and White House Deputy Chief of Staff Joe Hagin about the matter, and they decided that the doctor for Mike and Karen Pence should report the matter through the appropriate medical and military channels.

Jackson has served 23 years as a Navy physician, including a tour in 2005 as an emergency medicine physician in Iraq.

Why does any of this matter, now that Jackson - who's served as physician to three presidents - has not only withdrawn from the VA nomination but agreed to leave his post as White House doctor?

White House physician Ronny Jackson is here to stay, at least for now.

Jackson withdrew his nomination following accusations of drinking on the job, and handing out prescription drugs.

Initially raised by Sen.

Parker went on to say he believes the Trump/Tester feud will lead to a big infusion of new out-of-state spending in Montana's Senate race, particularly on TV, both for and against Tester.

Jackson has denied the allegations, which have not been publicly substantiated.

Jackson is accused of drunkenly banging on the hotel door of a female subordinate, being involved in an alcohol-related auto crash, and improperly dispensing prescription medications. At a campaign rally that night, Trump said: "I know things about Tester that I could say, too".

After Jackson withdrew on Thursday, Trump launched into an attack on the committee's ranking Democrat, Jon Tester, over his opposition to the nominee and called for the Montana Democrat to resign in a tweet Saturday morning.

At the VFW Post 1087 in Great Falls, some veterans enjoying a beer and watching the National Basketball Association playoffs on a Sunday afternoon say their problem with Tester is that he went public with allegations against Jackson before a full investigation was concluded.
