NRA members not allowed to bring guns into Trump speech

The U.S. Secret Service will be responsible for security, so firearms, knives and other weapons will be prohibited.

"There will be no storage for firearms", the NRA says in the announcement.

But the NRA said the U.S. Secret Service will coordinate security for the Pence speech and will not allow weapons in the arena while he is present. The National Rifle Association's annual meeting is upon us and like allergy season, the news media is saying that the organization banned guns because Vice President Mike Pence and President Trump are attending.

"It's ironic that they feel they need to ban guns to protect themselves especially after their main philosophy has been more guns = more protection yet they don't think they need to protect our kids in the same way", David Hogg, 17, a Parkland senior who became an outspoken gun control advocate after surviving the shooting, said in a text to the Los Angeles Times. The NRA did not ban guns at the event, but in cases where, you know the president and vice president of the United States are addressing the convention, it's quite understandable that the Secret Service doesn't want firearms near them. "NRA faces backlash for banning guns at NRA convention", a headline from The Hill said.

He added, "I want my daughter and others murdered by weapons had the identical safety". "Can someone explain this to me?"

Rapper Kanye West calls Trump 'my brother,' says they share 'dragon energy'
After getting a supportive retweet from President Trump , the "Yeezus" rapper apparently lost 9 million followers minutes later. Ebro Darden of New York's Hot 97 said Monday that he spoke with West, who said (among other things) that he does "love Trump".

Pence had been slated to deliver the convention's keynote speech Friday, which some family and friends of Parkland victims said upset them because he has yet to meet with them, something Trump did shortly after the shooting. "Am I missing something?" he asked on Twitter. But this year, Trump is set to speak to the gun lobby just two months after he drew concerns from conservatives after urging lawmakers to not fear the NRA and suggesting law enforcement officials should take guns away from unsafe individuals without due process.

"Y$3 ou're telling me to make the VP safe there aren't any weapons around but when it comes to children they want guns everywhere?"

Even the HuffPo article cited above includes the following: "The NRA posted the restrictions ― a requirement of the Secret Service ― on a website announcing the conference. You can't have it both ways, guys", she wrote.

Trump met with NRA officials at the White House twice in less than a week following the Parkland massacre, and about a week after the attack on the Florida high school, Trump called the NRA leadership "great people and great American patriots" on Twitter.

The national convention "brings together our nation's top Second Amendment leaders in government, the media, and the entertainment industry", according to the NRA.
