Fortnite Season 4 Is Here, And With It Are Many Changes

In the lead-up to the release of the new season, the game's production company Epic Games has been teasing the comet strike, as well as new superheroes in a marketing campaign. Many locations have been transformed by its impact, along with new points of interest created in the aftermath. For Fortnite Season 4, which kicks off today, the comet has made impact and brought with it a whole slew of new content, game enhancements and gameplay changes for both the core game and Battle Royale. Namely, the long-awaited and highly anticipated theory crafted event of a Meteor crashing on Fortnite's Map has finally occurred.

Further, the post says that the comet has left a mark on the island and players would find glowing rocks nearby. Many players had suspected that the Fortnite meteor was expected to crash land at Tilted Towers, but they were wrong. You'll also have the chance to get new heroes with new abilities and perks to add you to your squad. For the most part, this is the same Fortnite: Battle Royale you know and love, just with a bunch of new items and a few changes to the map.

Fans of the game can watch the Season 4 trailer below, thanks to an early morning upload from the devs. Developer Epic Games didn't offer any explanation for why the meteors had appeared, so everyone began speculating that the meteors would eventually start hitting the map, possibly altering it for good. There really wasn't much in the area before, but players will now find a selection of houses and cars all centered around a busted movie screen and a smaller crater, with plenty of places to hide out in between. It also lets you take some shortcuts in your fort building, since you don't need to make as many ramps as you go up. All structures on the island can now be destroyed. Its Battle Royale mode is now available on Xbox One, PlayStation 4, PC, and mobile.
