KCNA: Kim Jong-un discusses future United States talks at party meeting

WASHINGTON-President Donald Trump on Monday extended the timetable for his anticipated meeting with North Korean leader Kim Jong Un, saying the summit might not happen until early June.

Bolton, in a March interview, said that his preference will be for precisely a Libya-style settlement of North Korea's nuclear program, which remains both unrealistic and dead on arrival.

He said the two sides will discuss the denuclearization of North Korea and expressed hope for an improvement in ties.

However, Pyongyang has never officially confirmed its offer of denuclearisation talks to the White House, which was delivered by a South Korean envoy.

The President said planning is continuing for the unprecedented meeting, which he said would address North Korea's nuclear weapons.

This fueled concerns in Washington that Seoul had overstated the North's willingness to negotiate over its own nuclear arsenal, even as officials scrambled to prepare for the prospective meeting.

State media say 41,000 people have also been evacuated to Idlib under deals between Ahrar al-Sham and Faylaq al-Rahman. According to United Nations officials, hundreds of thousands of people have been killed in the conflict to date.

It was through these channels that Kim let the U.S. president know that denuclearisation was on the table in any talks between the two leaders.

"Hopefully it will be a relationship that's much different than from other years", Trump said, as he blamed his predecessors for failing to take action.

USA and North Korean intelligence officials have spoken a couple of times and even met in a third country, CNN reported.

Over past several months, the Trump administration has implemented a "maximum pressure campaign" against the North Korean regime, meeting with several world leaders from surrounding nations to force the DPRK's hand toward paring down - or completely eliminating - their nuclear arsenal.

At the very least, Kim would agree to relinquish his weapons only if the United States agreed to end its military alliance with South Korea, in place since the 1950-53 Korean War, Narang said. The Mongolian capital Ulaanbaatar has also been raised as a possible location, the sources said.

Chung Eui-yong, the director of the South Korean National Security Council, advised Kim Jong Un to stop smoking during a conversation.
