Warner steps down as SRH captain

Warner has been identified as a central figure in Australia's ball-tampering shame that overshadowed their third Test defeat against South Africa in Cape Town.

According to reports, Warner might be banned for 12 months by Cricket Australia, which is now investigating the ball-tampering controversy that has plunged the game into crisis. "Our team is strong enough to replace Warner", he told reporters in Kolkata". Wriddhiman Saha, who'll be playing for SRH this year, however, felt the decision isn't going to impact the team much.

'We understand and share the anger of fans and the broader Australian community, ' he said. Kane Williamson, Deepak Hooda, etc. are there. But we have enough replacements to make a good side, if not 100 per ent but closer to that.

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) may yet block Warner and Smith, who stood down as Rajasthan Royals captain on Monday, from taking part in this year's IPL.

Cricket Australia chief executive James Sutherland revealed on Tuesday that Smith, vice-captain Warner and Bancroft were the only members of the touring party involved in the plot to manipulate the condition of the ball and they are expected to face further sanctions.

The team management has kept mum. I'm sure the whole team should be held responsible.

"From whatever I have seen, they have tampered with the ball blatantly which is not in the right spirit of the game", Saha said on the incident.

Talking about the SRH middle order, Saha said, "I don't remember all the names, but the middle order is good". I don't know the rule but it (quantum of punishment) should be same for everybody.

Meanwhile, Saha also lavished praise on the U-19 pace duo of Shivam Mavi and Kamlesh Nagarkoti. They are an asset for the Indian team.
