Super Smash Bros is finally coming to the Nintendo Switch this year

Nintendo hasn't said exactly when Switch owners will be able to get their hands on Super Smash Bros, beyond confirming its "2018" release. In a press release, Ubisoft says that the game will be available on Nintendo's console on 24th April.

What appeared to be an update for Splatoon 2 took a bit of a turn when the Super Smash Bros logo appeared on-screen and brought the ink-based battles to a halt.

Both of these could be indications that we're looking at a new game in the Super Smash Bros series. But the fact that the title is in the works implies it's not as simple as that, which definitely raises a flag this could be a brand new installment of the franchise.

Confirmed Characters- The final scene of the trailer featured a series of silhouettes set against the backdrop of the Smash Bros. logo, seemingly revealing numerous characters set to be included in the game. The most interesting takeaway is that Marth, Wario, and Pit seem to be considered "core" Smash Bros. characters. We can only hope that Mario adds Cappy from Odyssey to his attire so the protagonists from two of the best games of 2017 can actually fight. In the final moments, it was revealed that the game would be out later this year. Look at how they treated RE Rev 1&2 on the Switch, and look at how they're releasing MM Legacy Collections where you have to download the other half of the collection rather than it being on the same cartridge. Each Gold point you've accumulated is worth $0.01, and you can choose how many you'd like to apply toward your purchase at checkout on either the Eshop or Nintendo's website.

These are not confirmed and not all silhouettes can be made out, but here are our guesses as to who each character is! A remaster of Super Smash Bros Wii U with just enough new content to make it feel like a new game. Switch, and is it an enhanced port or an entirely new game?
