Packers Cutting Nelson, Reportedly Signing Graham

Packers Cutting Nelson, Reportedly Signing Graham

His release saves Green Bay more than $10.2 million. The announcement came minutes after news broke that the team plans to sign tight end Jimmy Graham.

An NFL source confirmed that the Packers have deals in place with both Graham and Wilkerson.

Entering free agency, Gutekunst had emphasized he wanted to be "aggressive" and "be in every conversation".

Nelson was due around $9 million in 2018, but coming off a 2017 season in which he caught just 53 passes for 482 yards and six touchdowns, many suspected Green Bay could part ways with him.

While fans will miss Jordy, they're awaiting to see what the packers' next moves will be.

Graham is a five-time Pro Bowl player who had 57 receptions for 520 yards and 10 touchdowns past year in Seattle.

Nelson, 33, spent his entire 10-year career in Green Bay, but he slowed down significantly last season.

Congress demands probe into Shopian firing incident
Ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) vice president Sartaj Madni called the Shopian incident "outrageous" and condemned it. Following the incident, clashes between surging crowds and security forces erupted in a few Shopian areas, a report said.

Graham was the highest-paid tight end in the league, and that likely won't change this season.

Understandably, the former Pro Bowler had no interest in slashing his income by over $8 million.

Nelson wasn't the fastest receiver ever to put on a Packers uniform, nor was he the best route runner.

In a team statement, GM Brian Gutekunst spoke of Nelson in the past tense. In a related move, the Packers released veteran wide receiver Jordy Nelson.

The Seahawks are reportedly losing another top player, this time Tight End Jimmy Graham, according to NFL Insider Ian Rappaport. Giving Bortles a veteran receiver with four 1,000 seasons could help instill confidence in Bortles and help develop the young receivers in Jacksonville.

Despite adding Wilkerson and Graham, the Packers still have work to do and Gutekunst admitted as much. He was traded to Minnesota in September 2016 and started 15 games that season after Teddy Bridgewater's knee injury. "But that's obviously a position we're looking at heavily right now".

The team announced on Tuesday that they have released Jordy Nelson.
