Muhammad Wilkerson to visit Saints

Now, word has come out New Orleans is going to meet with recently released Jets defensive lineman Muhammad Wilkerson. According to Jason La Canfora of CBS Sports, Wilkerson has a visit scheduled with the New Orleans Saints and Kansas City Chiefs next.

As Muhammad Wilkerson embarks on his first National Football League free agent tour, his mother Ka'idah apparently has reached her tipping point in regard to what she perceives as her son's mistreatment by New York Daily News columnist Manish Mehta.

"It's not personal. I just know how people in the building, people close to him in his life feel about him". "He may have met him in temple, but he has always written awful things about my son". "Manish have never liked Muhammad".

"Where's your proof, Manish, that Muhammad is an alcoholic?" she told WFAN. Wilkerson was drafted No. 30 overall in 2011 by NY.

Ka'idah was asked if Muhammad had a problem with alcohol, and she said "absolutely not".

They wanted the outing to be a personal, intimate experience. "You're not gonna get me to go down that path", he said . It's one of the most powerful experiences you'll ever have. "It was a great day".

Mehta has written negative things about Wilkerson, though the defensive end brought most of that on himself. He also has not had a strong statistical output since he signed an $86 million contract coming off his rookie deal.

Ka'idah goes on to cite Mehta's past coverage of Wilkerson, including calling him a "fat slob" and allegedly playing Wilkerson against former Jets teammate Sheldon Richardson, and saying she "definitely" thinks Mehta's actions qualify as defamation. "Like, why do you keep saying things about my son?"

The Jets released the 315-pound defensive tackle in February.

"He's always written disgusting things about my son", Ka'idah said on the show Friday morning.

I think we can all agree that Manish was out of line on this one.
