USA Today reported that Martin was detained at a Los Angeles-area medical facility where he went to seek treatment Friday.

ABC News confirmed that Martin was the man detained by police.

"When you're a bully victim and a coward, your options are suicide or revenge", Martin cryptically posted.

Albarran also said the picture included a gun and a reference to the school in a hashtag, a description that matches the screenshot tweeted by Brown. The image showed a shotgun, ammunition and tagged four accounts, including those belonging to former Miami teammates Richie Incognito and Mike Pouncey. It was not immediately clear whether Martin posted the photo himself.

An NFL investigation found that Incognito and two teammates engaged in persistent harassment directed at Martin, who left the team midseason.

A former National Football League player who attended a prestigious private high school in Los Angeles was detained by police Friday in connection with a social media post that prompted the closure of the school due to security concerns, according to two law enforcement sources familiar with the matter.

Incognito was suspended for the final eight games and sat out the 2014 season before joining the Buffalo Bills.

It's unclear if the post was intented to bring awareness to bullying or a threat.

Martin has largely been out of the public spotlight since retiring in 2015 after a brief stint with the Panthers. Pouncey was also made aware.
