A New Nintendo Direct May Be Coming on January 11th

Nintendo is a Switch-selling machine, and it doesn't look like the company will be slowing down at any point next fiscal year. Using a Nintendo Direct broadcast to announce some major titles and build anticipation for the months ahead worked out well a year ago, so don't be surprised to see Nintendo try the same thing again. This was despite Nintendo's constant dilemma of keeping a balance between the delivered number of units versus the demand. In any case, a Direct has been long overdue since the Nintendo Switch doesn't have many major game announcements left leading into 2018 and beyond. In all, 18 placeholder listings were published to Amazon's store, and the presence of that text suggests they may be revealed in an upcoming Nintendo Direct.

Some of the most popular games to be added to the Switch this year include the first and second main title release of the "Bayonetta" franchise - PlatinumGames' well-known action-adventure hack and slash videos games that were originally released in 2009 and 2014, respectively.

Several role-playing games from Square Enix have already been announced for release in 2018, including "Dragon Quest XI" and "Dragon Quest Builders".

Unsurprisingly, the Nintendo Switch was also the best-selling console of the year on Amazon, despite issues with supply earlier in 2017. Amazon has released its list of the best-selling games from 2017, and Nintendo managed to take seven of the top 10 spots. Mario Kart 8 Deluxe and Zelda: Breath of the Wild both re-entered the top ten meanwhile, taking #9 and #10, with Zelda rising a whole ten places from last week. Rogers' reply says, "John Harker is telling the truth about the 11th", followed by a tease about an unannounced SNK Nintendo Switch project.
