Quake hits Rudraprayag, tremors in north India

Tremors were also felt in Tamil Nadu's Chennai and Uttarakhand's Chamoli, indicating that the seismic event occured pan-India.

Tremors were felt in Delhi, Haryana, Chandigarh and parts of Punjab. According to the Centre for Seismology natural disaster was of magnitude 5.5 and was reported in Rudraprayag city of Uttarakhand and there were tremors in different parts of the country. The intensity of quake has been assessed at 5.5 on the Richter scale. So far there is no information about the loss of life or property of any kind of quake.
