Vikings place Sam Bradford on injured reserve, activate Teddy Bridgewater

Multiple reports have indicated that Case Keenum will likely start this week against Washington. It clears a spot for Teddy Bridgewater (knee) to be activated from the PUP list on Wednesday.

ESPN reported Bradford had his left knee "cleaned up" Tuesday to hopefully ease his pain.

Keenum replaced Bradford in the Bears game and led Minnesota to a 20-17 victory, and he's won each of his four starts since then.

Initial tests conducted the first time Bradford visited Dr. Andrews in September revealed no structural damage, but inflammation continues to be the root of the quarterback's pain management issue.

Vikings game kicks off at noon Sunday on FOX.

A second second opinion portends an ominous situation for Vikings quarterback Sam Bradford. The Vikings quarterback has come a long way since he suffered a dislocated knee and torn ACL on August 30, 2016. He was a Pro Bowl selection in 2015 when he passed for 3,231 yards and 14 touchdowns against nine interceptions. He has battled knee injuries throughout his career and has played only two games this season for the Vikings, who sent first- and fourth-round draft picks to the Eagles to acquire him past year.
