Ex-TV Anchor Says Son Was Sexually Assaulted by Spacey in 2016

Former WCVB-TV news anchor Heather Unruh said Wednesday that actor Kevin Spacey sexually assaulted her then 18-year-old son at a restaurant on Nantucket in July 2016.

Mitchell Garabedian, Unruh's son's lawyer, attended the news conference and said Spacey was within the statute of limitations for both civil and criminal claims. "Kevin Spacey bought him drink after drink", Unruh said at a press conference.

Representatives for Spacey did not immediately return PEOPLE's request for comment in regards to Unruh's allegations.

Unruh said her son didn't report the assault at the time because he was embarrassed.

Unruh said that last week, her son filed a police report and handed over evidence to the Nantucket police. Nantucket Chief of Police William Pittman said he will not comment on or confirm any investigation regarding Spacey or any other possible sexual assault investigation citing MA law regarding victim privacy.

"The victim - my son - was a starstruck, straight 18-year-old young man who had no idea that the famous actor was an alleged sexual predator or that he was about to become his next victim", Unruh said.

Broadcom offers to buy Qualcomm for $130B
Antitrust officials, who also would have to approve a Broadcom-Qualcomm deal, are still considering Qualcomm's purchase of NXP. The proposal comes as Qualcomm is trying to close its pending $38-billion acquisition of NXP Semiconductors NV ( NXPI .O).

Joining Unruh at the press conference was her son's attorney, Mitchell Garabedian, who represented numerous victims in the Boston clergy sex abuse scandal. She said watching Spacey host the Tony Awards this past year and be celebrated as a man and actor was "hurtful".

The actor has been suspended from production of the show. That's when a woman Unruh and Garabedian are now pleading to to come forward approached the visibly shaken teen to ask if he was OK.

"I want to see Kevin Spacey have the hand of justice come down on him, not just for my son but for the many others who have yet to speak their truth". "While he has tried his best to deal with it, as he says, it's always there". "That was an appalling attempt to deflect attention away from what you really are: a sexual predator".

Since Anthony Rapp came forward on October 29 to accuse Spacey of sexual misconduct 31 years ago, multiple allegations have continued to surface. But ultimately the company made a decision to suspend production of the show's last season indefinitely.

She also spoke directly to Spacey.

The streaming site then cut ties with Spacey altogether.
