WhatsApp group voice calling being tested with its latest Android beta App

WhatsApp group voice calling being tested with its latest Android beta App

WhatsApp recently announced its live location sharing feature, and in its blog post, the company shared an image (shown below, at the center) which represents live location sharing in a group. However, according to the code, there is a reference to the same feature for groups, but for video calling as well.

WaBetaInfo also unveiled that WhatsApp is testing "Delete for Everyone" option.

After their latest live location sharing feature, WhatsApp is adding one more feature to their interface, Group Voice Calling! One-on-one video calls have been around for quite a long time now, so it makes sense to move on to the next big thing.

Of course, we all know that it's mostly preferable to call on wifi / 3G / 4G network, but given the connectivity variation in Nigeria, you can never be sure of the other person's internet connectivity.

You can now use the popular messaging app to ring up your individual contacts, but the voice and video call options only appear inside one-on-one conversations. The Facebook-owned messaging app has been adding a lot of feature for its over 1 billion users. According to WaBetaInfo, a website that tests all new WhatsApp features claimed that the application will be launching a group video and voice call feature.

News of the new feature comes less than a week after WhatsApp rolled out the option to track the movements of friends in real time.

The tweet by WABetaInfo has confirmed that the latest iOS beta version (v2.17.70) of the messaging platform will offer the group voice calls feature. The references for the same were spotted in the iOS beta version 2.17.70.

One of the most anticipated features that this new update brings is mark chat as unread.

The new WhatsApp v2.17.70 will also send a request to the server to ask if one calling the user is on another call or not. The "unsend" feature of WhatsApp we are all waiting for, might just launch soon as well. The administrator can now control whether participants can modify the group subject, icon and its description.

Another otion is also to prevent the group creator to be deleted from the group by other administrators.

Earlier this year, it was reported that WhatsApp beta for Windows Phone came with a nifty feature that sends a notification to all the WhatsApp contacts when a user changes his/her number, making the whole process less cumbersome. However, this will go a step further and allow users to edit specific parts of a message "sent" instead of recalling the entire text.
