Colin Kaepernick scores million-dollar book deal

Former San Francisco 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick, who hasn't been signed by an National Football League team this season, has reportedly signed a million-dollar book deal.

Kaepernick had reportedly been seen taking meetings at the offices of the publisher earlier in October, according to The Post.

He added: "My understanding is Colin Kaepernick has been invited to these last two meetings". If these players and coaches' goal is to gain a lot of attention, then they have been undoubtedly successful.

Such a meeting may create a sort of surreal moment, as Kaepernick, in the midst of a collusion grievance against NFL owners, attends a meeting with players and owners over the very issue that he believes has caused him to be blocked from the league.

Goodell has not demanded players to stand for the anthem, even though he said in a recent memo he preferred all players to stand during "The Star-Spangled Banner".

However, Lockhart noted it's up to the players whether or not to invite Kaepernick.

NFL vice president of communications Joe Lockhart said on the league's weekly conference call that Kaepernick has been invited to the meeting next week in NY, but was uncertain whether the free-agent signal-caller would be attending. The player has linked his inability to find a new club with the protests he displayed a year ago after refusing to stand for the national anthem.

He opted out of his contract with the 49ers in the offseason but has said his agent reached out to all 32 teams to make sure they were aware of his interest in playing this season. "There are bodies on the street and people getting paid leave and getting away with murder".

Kaepernick reportedly said he would stand during the anthem if he got a chance to play in 2017. That ultimately appeared to have been orchestrated by Trump, who said he asked Pence to walk out in the event that protests occurred during the anthem.

"We're proud of our country".
