ATP Shanghai - Saturday Schedule: another Federer vs Nadal final?

World number one Rafa Nadal battled past Bulgarian Grigor Dimitrov 6-4 7-6 (4) 6-3 and into the semi-finals of the Shanghai Masters on Friday. In Beijing, he defeated Dimitrov in a three-set semifinal.

With this second victory over Dimitrov in as many weeks, the Spaniard also extended his winning streak to 15 matches since his third-time US Open success, reports Xinhua news agency.

Trailing 3-2 in the decider, Dimitrov's forehand crashed into the net to hand Nadal the break he needed.

"I played a very good match, I don't know how many mistakes I made, but very few", said the 16-time Grand Slam victor and top seed in Shanghai. "But I think he's still very young and he needs to keep learning, as he's doing now", said the Argentine, 23 in the world. "Both of us served well during the whole match, so yeah, it was decided on just a few balls, and anything can happen".

Fourth seed Cilic has reached the last four without dropping a set and overcame Nadal's countryman Albert Ramos-Vinolas 6-3 6-4, although the Spaniard did managed to break Cilic's serve for the first time in the competition at 3-3 in the second set.

Federer made another matchup by beating Richard Gasquet 7-5, 6-4.

The world No.2 broke Gasquet at 5-5 to gain the advantage and went on to take the first set.

Timeless rival Federer was even faster, dismissing Ukrainian qualifier Alexandr Dolgopolov 6-4, 6-2 in 61 minutes.

He will now face Argentina's Juan Martin del Potro, the 2009 US Open champion and Rio 2016 Olympic silver medallist who came from behind to end the run of Serbia's Viktor Troicki.
