Nintendo Restarting NES Classic Production In 2018, SNES Classic Sales Extended

Nintendo is bringing back the Nintendo Entertainment System Classic Edition next summer and greatly increasing the shipments of the Super Nintendo Entertainment System Classic Edition this year, the company announced this morning. The NES Classic Edition will hit store shelves once again in the summer of 2018.

In fairness to Nintendo on the NES Classic side of things, the company's new Switch console did launch in March 2017.

Nintendo also said that it has "dramatically increased" production on the NES Classic's successor, the Super NES Classic, which contains 21 classic games from the '90s.

To be blunt, you're pretty much screwed. The 16-bit console comes with 20 classic games - including Super Mario World and Super Mario Kart, as well as the never-released Star Fox 2. The popular mini-console sold out really quickly past year, resulting in the company promising a ton of copies for the followup SNES Classic, which comes out in a few weeks. We also hear that shipments for the console will be higher than those for its predecessor, the NES Classic Edition, that was sold out in a flash. "Originally, shipments were announced to cease at the end of this calendar year".

Nintendo has announced that we'll see more stock of the upcoming SNES Classic Edition, and a return to stores for its seemingly discontinued predecessor, the NES Classic Edition.

Mattis threatens 'massive' retaliation in escalating N.Korea dispute
South Korea's President Moon called for the "strongest punishment" against North Korea, including new United Nations sanctions. It comes after North Korea conducted its sixth nuclear test and claimed it had successfully developed a hydrogen bomb.

Medium-sized black hole seen lurking in the Milky Way
Using the ALMA telescope , the team observed the cloud more than 195 light years from the centre of the Milky Way . If the discovery is confirmed, it could indicate that our galaxy has grown by cannibalizing its smaller neighbors.

The announcement was made via Nintendo's Japanese Twitter account.

The NES Classic was a surprise hit in 2016, with all copies selling out in stores and online within minutes of being stocked.

The Super NES Classic, however, is right around the corner. However, it seems like Nintendo is making a significant effort to produce as many consoles as the people need.

"We know you are hungry for more details; on specs, games, pricing, timing", reads an Atari statement.
