Donald Trump Jr. Answers Senate Investigators Questions About Russian Election Meddling

The meeting touches on one of the questions at the heart of the federal investigation into Moscow's election-meddling campaign: whether any Trump associates colluded with Russian officials or representatives to influence the outcome of the 2016 presidential election.

Donald Trump Jr. will testify in front of the Senate Judiciary Committee on Thursday.

Futerfas confirmed the proposed meeting in an email to POLITICO.

The meeting has been a focus of the Judiciary and other congressional committees that are investigating alleged Russian efforts to influence the election.

Attending were: Trump Jr., Manafort, Kushner, Veselnitskaya, Goldstone, Rinat Akhmetshin (a Russian-American lobbyist who previously served as a military counterintelligence officer for the Soviet Union), Ike Kaveladze (a real estate and finance executive who worked for Aras Agalarov) and a translator.

Erin Pelton, a spokeswoman for Rice, said she had met voluntarily with the committee as part of its investigation.
