China tells its banks to stop doing business with North Korea

Responding to Mr Trump's address at the United Nations, in which he threatened to "totally destroy" North Korea if it attacked the USA or its allies, Kim Jong Un issued a statement describing the speech as "unprecedented rude nonsense".

"I will make the man holding the prerogative of the supreme command in the US pay dearly for his speech calling for totally destroying" North Korea, Kim said.

North Korea says it needs a sturdy nuclear deterrence to protect it from an aggressive United States, and the autocratic regime has made militarism a central part of its national ideology.

The statement, which called Trump "a frightened dog" and a "dotard", was delivered by Kim Jong Un himself, and even included a picture of the North Korean leader sitting behind a desk, apparently reading from the statement. Speaking at the United Nations general assembly in NY, she called for the world's leading powers to intensify efforts to force Kim Jong-un to abandon his nuclear programme, reported Inews.

In his speech, Mr. Trump vowed to "totally destroy" North Korea if it threatened the United States or its allies.

If North Korea launches the test, it will be considered a major provocation by Washington and its allies.

The Yonhap news agency reported Thursday on the hydrogen bomb threat from North Korean Foreign Minister Ri Yong Ho on the sidelines of the United Nations General Assembly in NY.

U.S. President Donald Trump said the United States will add more sanctions against North Korea on Thursday, as U.S. allies have called for enforcing worldwide sanctions as the best way to get Pyongyang to give up its nuclear weapons program.
