Hamilton bounces back to top Belgian Grand Prix practice

Emerging from the sport's enforced three-week midseason shutdown, Ferrari's Sebastian Vettel leads Mercedes's Lewis Hamilton and Valtteri Bottas in the drivers title standings by 14 and 33 points respectively.

But he expects to remedy that, starting in Belgium on Sunday.

"I thought about so many different things during the summer", said Hamilton, who spent the four-week break in America, Barbados and Cuba.

He went quickest just before the 90-minute session's halfway mark on a 1m46.439s on super-soft tyres, and later went nearly a second faster in the final half an hour on softs. That said Hamilton, not to mention Verstappen, excels in the wet, and Vettel took his maiden grand prix win from pole at a watery Monza. We know what's happening with our vehicle and know where it can be better but we don't want to big it up or downplay it.

Ferrari's Kimi Raikkonen, who had been fastest in the morning session with a time of 1:45.502 on ultra-soft tyres while Hamilton stayed on softs, was second on the timesheets with an afternoon best that was 0.262 slower than the Briton.

Leclerc tested Ferrari's 2017 F1 challenger at the Hungaroring earlier this month - topping the first day of running - and some reports suggested he was under consideration to replace Raikkonen. I want it just as much if not more as everyone else this year.

Hamilton won at Spa in 2015, but was beaten by team-mate and 2016 world champion Nico Rosberg previous year and has had mixed results at the famous old sprawling and high-speed circuit.

Not that he could remember all of his races, or even select a favorite. My first grand prix.

Let's see what happens."A big crowd is expected to camp out and herald Formula One's "return to work" from the beach at this weekend's Belgian Grand Prix where Stoffel Vandoorne will hope to mark his retention by McLaren with a strong showing in front of his home fans". Winning the championship in Brazil is a highlight, too. It is odd when you have been racing so long, this is my 200th race, you would think the passion and desire to win would fade but it is stronger than ever. "It wasn't actually a great experience but it was still a highlight in my career", he said. "My favourite race would be a wet race when you have to overcome certain obstacles and you can exploit your auto in a way nobody thought you could, that is awesome".

Tom Savage excels in Texans' exhibition against Patriots
Dion Lewis rushed seven times for 34 yards and caught 1-of-2 targets for nine yards in the Patriots' second preseason game . Considering that the Patriots are playing a strong Texans defense, this should be an entertaining matchup to watch for.
