Dodgers' Yu Darvish pulled as precaution due to tightness in back

Austin Barnes' single put runners at the corners for Puig, who hit a 3-2 pitch to left-center field, ending the game.

I feel like I said this hundreds of times this season, but the Dodgers pulled off another magical victory on Wednesday night against the Chicago White Sox.

Darvish said he first felt tightness in his back last week in his start at Arizona.

Ace Clayton Kershaw remains on the disabled list with a back injury of his own; he pitched a two-inning simulated game Wednesday, though.

"Between innings, I talked to Kershaw, and he asked me, 'How do you feel?' " Darvish said through an interpreter.

Darvish gave up three runs, all on solo homers, in six innings. The left-hander struck out four and walked four. Rodon is making his second career start against the Dodgers after allowing five runs over 3 2/3 innings in a 9-1 loss at Guaranteed Rate Field on July 19. Darvish was then removed from the game without throwing a pitch.

Bilic: West Ham won't forget Manchester United thrashing in a hurry
It's a tricky first assignment, but the goalkeeper is hopeful that West Ham will be able to take their enforced mini-exile in their stride in the weeks ahead.

Ross Stripling (2-4) got the victory with one inning of relief. On Tuesday, Tim Anderson hit Alex Wood's first pitch for a home run.

Chicago took a 2-1 lead in the fourth when Delmonico's first homer of the game extended his hitting streak to 11 games.

Delmonico has reached base safely in each of his first 13 games to start his big league career and is now riding an 11-game hit streak. He homered again on the first pitch from Tony Watson leading off the eighth.

That set the stage for Puig, who was 0 for 2 with a walk in his first three at-bats.

"(We'll) see you in the World Series, guys", the 26-year-old Cuban said. Renteria managed the Cubs in 2014, but the team went 73-89 and he was sacked.

Elvis Andrus had the go-ahead home run among his four RBIs, Cole Hamels won again despite a shaky outing and the Texas Rangers completed a three-game sweep of the Detroit Tigers with a 12-6 victory. Still, Judge's feat is impressive, and given the nature of his game and the state of baseball these days, it's not hard to imagine him striking out in three or four more straight games anyway.
