Why Manchester United must not sell De Gea to Real Madrid - Herrera

United have brought in Benfica defender Victor Lindelof and Everton striker Romelu Lukaku this summer while work goes on behind the scenes to bring in more fresh blood.

On Sunday José Mourinho's side play their fourth pre-season tour game in San Jose against Real, who United believe are preparing to make a serious offer for De Gea.

The Spain goalkeeper nearly moved to Madrid two years ago, but the move collapsed on deadline day.

Real Madrid meet Manchester United in a star-studded International Champions Cup match at Levi's Stadium in Santa Clara, California, on Sunday.

De Gea was heavily linked with a switch to Real Madrid at the end of the 2016-17 campaign but a move has failed to materialise - so far.

"My feeling is that it would be very hard for him to go".

"He's a very honest boy, very straight".

After Exxon Fine for Sanctions Violations, Calls for Rex Tillerson to Resign
As head of the oil company, he signed deals with Rosneft, leading Russian Federation to award him the Order of Friendship in 2013. Tillerson left ExxonMobil to become secretary of state after 10 years at the helm of the global energy power.

"He was contacted for a long time, the club was closed".

"We opened it [the door to De Gea leaving] because I have this feeling when a player has a desire to go, I don't like to stop them because you don't get what you expect".

"So we open it and then they decide to close, and I don't think the feeling for him is very, very good".

'I want to keep him here, to play with him, because he's a fantastic keeper and also my friend.

"I see him really happy and focused and working better than ever, so for me 100 per cent he stays with us".

Mourinho said: "My plan for the team, for the evolution of the team in this second transfer window for me - because the transfer window of last December we didn't use that - I told you that my plan was to get four players, to give balance to the team in all the different areas".

Mourinho admitted defeat in his attempt to sign Cristiano Ronaldo from Madrid last week, stating that it was the "impossible mission", and the Portuguese feels that he faces a similar task persuading teammate Bale to swap clubs this summer.
