John McCain to return to Senate for key health care vote

Regarding "Ailing McCain warns colleagues of return, blasts Trump for ending aid to Syrian rebels" (Page A8, Friday), as U.S. Sen. McCain tweeted about foreign hot spots in Afghanistan, Poland and Syria, making public his intent to focus on work in Washington instead of his medical issues.

We wish Senator McCain and his family the very best.

Yet fellow Republicans took McCain's return as a positive sign for Tuesday's vote.

In his remarks to open Tuesday's Senate session, McConnell appealed to wavering members of his party to vote for the procedural motion to begin debate and amendments to the legislation, even though he has not disclosed exactly which bill he will propose. One day after McCain's brain cancer diagnosis was revealed, Kelli Ward, who ran against McCain previous year, was already talking about the possibility of taking over his Senate seat.

U.S. Republican Senator John McCain, who has been recuperating in Arizona after being diagnosed with brain cancer, will return to Washington for a vote on healthcare reform on Tuesday, his office said in a statement on Monday.

The Arizona Republican announced on Wednesday he had been diagnosed with brain cancer and has not made any suggestion he will need to step down because of his health, prompting Dr. Kelli Ward, who ran against him in last year's GOP primary, to give him advise on stepping down. And there could be sweet revenge in defying cancer to undo the signature legislation of the man who beat him for the presidency in 2008, Barack Obama.

McConnell promised to bring a full repeal bill with a two-year delay to the floor, which President Trump seemed to be on board with.

And it's not even clear the GOP has the votes to pass that.

The Navy also said it would spend $43 billion in total to build the first three ships in the class, including the USS John F. You going to goddamned steam, the digital costs hundreds of millions of dollars more money and it's no good", Trump said.

This comes ahead of further court hearings expected at the end of this week, and a ruling on Charlie's future care next week. Yates has said she has seven experts who have claimed up to a 10 percent chance that Charlie would benefit from treatment.

Kelly , and how she ended up living with the singer ... because she claims her dad helped orchestrate the whole thing". She kept saying, 'I've been bad, I'm sorry Daddy, ' shit like that. "It's not non-consensual, I guess", she added.

"Over and over again, they said, 'Repeal and replace, repeal and replace.' But they can now keep their promise", Trump said.

If the vote succeeds, the Senate will move on to 20 hours of debate, divided evenly between Republicans and Democrats, and unlimited amendments in what looks like would be an unpredictable floor fight between Republican factions with Democrats forcing hard votes. "I like people who weren't captured".

"I would never presume to say what someone's prognosis is without having examined them". Ward pushed back against the characterization of what she was trying to say, insisting the radio hosts were putting words in her mouth.

Ward, a physician and former state senator who is now running against Republican Sen.

Trump would change his tune in a hurry if McCain voted no.

This isn't the first time Ward has received national attention for her comments on McCain's health.

McConnell met with conservative activists Monday to discuss health care. He added, "We could use some more loyalty, I will tell you that".
