Severe thunderstorm warning in effect for southern Carroll, western Howard, Montgomery and northern Prince George's counties until 4 p.m.

Severe thunderstorms and flash flooding are possible in the D.C. region today.

The National Weather Services cautions people in the line of this storm to move to an interior room on the lowest floor of a building.

It is possible that this zone will be shifted to the east late today to account for the potential of heavy rain in eastern and southeastern MA tonight.

The National Weather Service has issued a severe thunderstorm until 8 p.m. for Fauquier County, Prince William County, Manassas and Manassas Park.
