Trump to meet with Russian FM Lavrov Wednesday

Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov's talks with Trump were already destined to be a closely watched affair, given the dire state of U.S.

But the meeting will be impossible to separate from the Trump administration's unfolding political drama in Washington.

The FBI has concluded that President Vladimir Putin approved a wide-ranging campaign to tilt last year's vote in Trump's favour, and Comey was heading a wide-ranging investigation into whether the Republican's aides colluded with the Russian effort. According to the Russian Foreign Ministry, Tillerson and Lavrov will exchange views on key problems of the global agenda and discuss topical issues of the bilateral relations at the upcoming talks.

The stigma of the Russian Federation investigations has been impossible for Mr Trump to shake.

Even former Attorney General Sally Yates said she had alerted the White House that Ex- national security adviser Michael Flynn could be "essentially blackmailed by the Russians".

New INHUMANS Teaser Promises Freedom and Betrayal
Not only that, but it seems ABC's fantastical series will also share story elements with Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. Of course, he says that he wants freedom for all of the Inhumans, but it's more complicated than that, we believe.

But his hopes for a possible rapprochement with Moscow, so regularly repeated during the campaign, have been derailed.

Relations soured further in April after the United States blamed Syria's president Bashar Assad, a key Russian ally, for a deadly chemical weapons attack on civilians and Mr Trump fired some 60 cruise missiles at a Syrian air base in response.

"The previous administration bent over backwards to undermine the solid foundation of our relations", Lavrov told reporters at the Russian Embassy after meeting Trump.

Still, Tillerson's meeting provided a blueprint for how the former Cold War foes might go about improving ties.

For the first time in years, Mr. Lavrov is coming to Washington. The visit by Russia's longtime foreign minister is the first since August 2013, a sign of the high-stakes conversations between the two countries, even as Tillerson and others have said the relationship is at an all-time low.
