Teen Breaks All-Time Retweet Record, Finally Gets His Free Wendy's Chicken Nuggets

A Nevada teen on the hunt for a year of free chicken nuggets got his Twitter wish fulfilled on Tuesday after he broke the world record for the most retweeted tweet.

Wilkerson set out to break the record after asking Wendy's how many retweets he would need to receive a free year's supply of chicken nuggets.

Admittedly, Wilkerson's response, "consider it done", hasn't reached that particular goal yet.

With 3.47M (and climbing) retweets, it has surpassed the infamous Ellen DeGeneres Oscar selfie and snagged the title of most retweeted tweet of all time. Wendy's said that the goal was 18 million. "That's good for the nuggets and good for a $100k donation to [the Dave Thomas Foundation for Adoption.] Consider it done".

Wilkerson appeared on DeGeneres' show last month. He now has over 100,000, he is officially verified on Twitter, and #NuggsForCarter has a custom emoji featuring a box of Wendy's nuggets.

The teen's father, J. Wilkerson, told CNN he's proud of his son for raising awareness and funds for the adoption charity: "He's really making this into something that's more than just chicken nuggets for a year - he's making this into something that's helping". "The restaurant posted a photo of Wilkerson holding up a certificate and what looks like a handful of gift cards, and captioned it, ".@carterjwm is now the most retweeted tweet of all-time.

It's a good day for Twitter user Carter Wilkerson. Assuming Wendy's gives him a daily allotment of one four-piece chicken nuggets, he'll eat 180 calories a day of nugs.
