Rain chances increasing for the late week

A cold front will push into Florida Thursday morning increasing the moisture supply. An east to northeasterly flow will keep temperatures very much on the cool side. We can expect periods of rain throughout the day and well into Thursday night. Clouds should break later in the day, allowing temps to return to the low to mid 70s.

The center of the storm system will be over the Great Lakes on Thursday, but a strong jet stream ahead of it will provide a favorable environment for heavy showers, and possibly thunderstorms to come rolling through the Northeast.

Friday: Sunny, with a high near 83. Highs on Thursday will boost into the upper 70s, before slightly warmer weather moves in to start Memorial Day Weekend. Impulses of energy aloft in that jet stream are also likely to trigger the formation of scattered showers and thunderstorms. Partly sunny, with a high near 82. Northwest wind 5 to 15 miles per hour.

Sunday our rain chances increase. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 52 degrees.

South law enforcement officers celebrate National Police Week
This week is National Police Week and law enforcement agencies all over the country are honoring those killed in the line of duty. All fallen officers were to be remembered at events scheduled to be held in Washington , D.C., as part of National Police Week.
