HTC U11 is now official, DxOMark calls it best mobile camera

Now, HTC is preparing another new smartphone launch, the HTC U 11, and most of the details have just come out in a pretty huge leak.

The glass-cased device comes with a new feature called Edge Sense, which allows users to apply pressure to the sides of the phone to quickly launch various applications like the talk-to-text, email, camera, or virtual assistant functions. It includes BoomSound for Hi-Fi audio output and 3D Audio recording with the four microphones. At the back you get a 12 MP UltraPixel 3-branded camera offering a 1.4 micron pixel size, f/1.7 aperture, optical image stabilization and a dual-LED flash. The much-anticipated HTC U11 comes with new, crazy-fast Qualcomm Snapdragon chipset, ultra-clear camera and new design. The HTC U11 follows the footsteps of the U Ultra and ditches the 3.5mm headphone and instead comes bundled wit HTC USonic USB-C earphones with improvised noise control feature. As for the price, the phone will start at €749 in Europe and possibly $749 in the U.S. It'll be available in Amazon Silver, Brilliant Black, Ice White, Sapphire Blue and Solar Red color variants. And yes, you can customize the apps that you launch using the Edge Sense feature.

Under this all-glass shell is the latest and greatest Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 processor which is one of the fastest chips now on the market. The design ends up looking flashy if not glossy, with a 5.5 inch display at the front flanked by now-relatively-large bezels, a bottom-firing speaker and no 3.5mm headphone jack (though this time, the device comes with an adapter in the box).

The HTC U11 promises to deliver on camera performance as well. HTC says that with this feature the audio levels are tied in with zoom-in functionality of the smartphone. The device runs on Android 7.1 Nougat with HTC sense. There is a 3,000 mAh battery with Quick Charge 3.0 support. The smartphone has also been given the IP67 rating which means that HTC U11 is water and dust resistance.

Melissa McCarthy Hosts 'Saturday Night Live'
For this season, only Alec Baldwin's turn as host on February 11 had more viewers (McCarthy also played Spicer on that show, too). That's when our friends from cartoons and video games show up. "I can't, I have a wife".

Andy Parkes column: Mental health issues can hit us at any time
Just last month, Kaiser Permanente debuted an ad featuring a surprising spokesperson for mental health: Stephan Curry. Sometimes the answer is clear, but often the distinction between mental health and mental illness isn't so obvious.

The design is a considerable refinement of the liquid glass aesthetic that HTC introduced earlier in the year - metal flowing directly into glass, with tight tolerances and joins. There is also a 16MP sensor on front with low light shooting capabilities.

However, all three devices each has a 12 megapixel rear camera, all of which also feature a variety of imaging technology created to compose images in different ways.

HTC U11 will be available in a number of markets as from next week, but global availability will begin in June.
