How to help your postal carrier Stamp Out Hunger on Saturday

How to help your postal carrier Stamp Out Hunger on Saturday

This is the 25th anniversary of the Stamp Out Hunger Food Drive, the nation's largest one-day food drive.

"Please! We encourage everyone, please be sure you put your non-perishable food items out at your mailbox on May 13, [this] Saturday" said De De Flounlacker, Executive Director of Manna Food Panties.

The drive, which a year ago collected thousands of pounds of food locally, enables communities to support their neighbors in need by utilizing local mail carriers to pick up essential food donations to distribute to the local food bank.

"Leave non-perishable food items, anything like soup, canned vegetables, dried goods like rice, pastas", Hamilton said.

Last year's drive was very successful in Centralia as carriers collected 9,210 pounds of food items. Letter carriers will collect these food donations as they deliver the mail and take them to local food banks.

Keep in mind to avoid items packaged in glass, frozen food, homemade or canned food and, especially, items beyond the "past due" date.

Serial killer suspect went undiscovered for more than a year
Records show Saucedo was pulled over for allegedly running a red light on October 27, 2015, just a month after the first killing. Others were afraid to come forward because many are immigrants in the USA illegally or don't have their paperwork in order.

Panthers sign first-round pick Christian McCaffrey, 4 others
After announcing that they'd signed three players on Thursday night, the team added two more to the list on Friday morning. Moton was the 64th overall pick out of Western Michigan, where he set a school record for most career starts.

UK mulls clean-air zones, scrappage scheme for polluting vehicles
Nottingham is being targeted with the plan because its city centre has some of the worst levels of pollution in the UK. Environmentalists have slammed the Scottish Government for failing to tackle the country's air pollution crisis.

"If you do leave your bag of food out, it's guaranteed to get back to us", said Stoker. Donations in Central Texas will go to the Central Texas Food Bank, which is hosting its 21 County Fair on May 20. America's Second Harvest of Coastal Georgia will prepare over 6,000 meals daily for distribution to 55 locations in 9 of the 21 counties that we serve.

The 25th annual Letter Carrier Food Drive will be all day May 11.

Many food banks and pantries receive the majority of their donations during the holidays, and their stores are depleted by springtime, the release said. "Mail carriers are paid to do one thing, to take the mail, sort it and deliver to you". Their letter carrier will retrieve the bags and then drop them off at collection sites for transfer to the food drive's hunger-relief partners.

"This is the time of year that it really becomes important", said letter carrier Frank Kelly, Jr.

All food will be kept and used locally.

"The Urban Mission appreciates the effort by the post office and the postal workers who are once again going the extra mile for us".
