United CEO Says They Won't Use Cops Anymore to Remove Overbooked Passengers

The senators said the incident could have been prevented with better communication or "additional incentives" - an apparent suggestion that United didn't offer passengers enough compensation to voluntarily give up their seats.

In an interview with ABC's "Good Morning America" aired Wednesday, Oscar Munoz said he felt "ashamed" watching video of the man being forced off the jet.

Munoz's latest statement described the removal as "truly horrific".

A passenger who witnessed the episode said that two officers tried to calmly talk the man out of his seat before a third approached him in an aggressive manner. This can never will never happen again on a United Airlines flight. "We are not going to put a law enforcement official onto a plane to take them off.to remove a booked, paid, seated passenger". 'We can't do that'.

The 69-year-old from Elizabethtown, Kentucky, refused to leave the flight, saying he needed to get home to treat patients.

The three officers who removed Dao have been suspended from their jobs at the Chicago Aviation Department.

Like Dr. Dao, Fearns refused to get up. Screaming can be heard on the videos as Dao is dragged from his window seat and across the armrest, but he is not seen fighting with the officers.

A man dragged off an "overbooked" United Airlines flight in an incident which shocked the world has launched legal action against the passenger carrier. There will still no takers, so the airline staff used a computer to randomly select passengers to remove.

Now, new footage has emerged showing the events leading up to Chicago Department of Aviation security officers dragging Dao out of his seat, knocking his face against the armrest, and pulling him down the aisle and off the plane.

New Jersey Governor Chris Christie told CNN on Wednesday that President Trump should "stop the overbooking until we set some more different rules about how the airlines can conduct themselves".

Alderman Mike Zalewski said he did not know who will represent the airline before the city council's Aviation Committee.

Dao's attorneys at the law firm Corboy & Demetrio said they would hold a news conference on Thursday to discuss the petition.
