Kulbhushan Jadhav's mother appeals against death sentence in higher court in Pakistan

Conducting a cyber surgical strike in Pakistan, Indian warriors on the web today took down at least 30 Pakistan government websites to protest against the death sentence handed out to former Indian Navy officer Kulbhushan Jadhav.

On April 10, the Pakistani military's spokesperson announced thatthe Field General Court Martial had sentenced Jadhav to death for spying under the Official Secrets Act and Pakistan army Act, alleging that he was a serving Indian military officer on an espionage mission to foment sectarianism and terrorist activities.

India on Wednesday filed a petition in a Pakistan court against the death sentence awarded to alleged spy Kulbhushan Jadhav.

On whether Jadhav's family could meet him, Basit said it was "too premature" to comment on how the case is going to proceed. He had also sought consular access to the Indian national on the basis of worldwide law.

Jadhav was arrested on March 3, 2016, in a counter-intelligence operation in Balochistan's Mashkel area for his involvement in espionage and sabotage activities against Pakistan. India claimed that Jhadav had already retired from the Indian navy and strongly implied that he had been kidnapped from Iran by Pakistan's security agencies.

Since the talks began between the two factions, Panneerselvam has been demanding that Sasikala and Dhinakaran quit the party. AIADMK AMMA deputy general secretary TTV Dinakaran has called a meeting of his party MLAs at 3 pm today.

On April 14, Bambawale had met with the Pakistan foreign secretary and expressed India's concern regarding the whereabouts and health condition of Jadhav. "They have applied for necessary visa with the Pakistan High Commission in New Delhi", the ministry added.

The message reads that the "Indian spy", in custody of Pakistani authorities, "lives for India" and all the cases filed against him are completely fake.

After the meeting, Bambawale told reporters the appeal was filed in line with legal requirements within the stipulated time of 40 days. This was second time that Bambawale has met Janjua to seek consular access to Jadhav.

India has, however, so far categorically denied such charges. The Pakistan Army also released what was described as a "confessional video" of Jadhav after his arrest. Pakistan Foreign Office has said that during the period of trial of Jadhav, due judicial process was followed and he was provided a lawyer in accordance with relevant laws and the Constitution of Pakistan.
