The rumors are true: Call of Duty will return to its World War II roots with the next installment of this best-selling game series, called Call of Duty: WWII.

Leaks related to Call of Duty: WWII continues to arrive on the internet since the official announcement from Activision. "New ways" to socialize with friend and the community as a whole is also promised.

"Call of Duty: World War 2" is now official, proving every rumour to be true.

"Activision will take Call of Duty back to its roots and traditional combat will once again take centerstage", he said.

We'll have a lot more information to share next Wednesday when the Call of Duty WWII livestream kicks off, perhaps, the next (de) evolution of the series. While the series will never not be popular, its jump to the future with the last few games didn't turn as many heads as Activision wanted. According to the marketing materials, Call of Duty World War 2 will release on November 3rd, 2017.

But it's hard to believe that WWII can be the start of a successful new series for Call of Duty. Frankly, it's nice to see an uncomplicated subtitle this time around as well, just nice and simple: Call of Duty: WW2.

The Call of Duty series began on Microsoft Windows, and later expanded to consoles and handhelds.
