Tri-Cities residents urged to go dark for Earth Hour

As a firm proponent of defying limits and pushing boundaries, Summit Natural Drinking Water joins the hour-long global switch-off for Earth Hour 2017 on Saturday.

"Never did we imagine that we would be writing a dramatic new story for climate action where each individual can help turn the page toward a sustainable, climate-resilient future for all", said Siddarth Das, executive director of Earth Hour Global.

In Sydney, many harbourside buildings switched off their lights for an hour from 8.30 p.m. local time as the call for action began rolling out across the world. A compilation of the photos submitted to the WWF will be uploaded to their official Facebook page to showcase endeavors in celebration of Earth Hour 2017 around the country.

With hype created around the event, Earth Hour has become the "world's largest, environmental grassroots movement in history, connecting hundreds of millions of people all over the planet".

With the aim to unite people to protect the planet, Earth Hour highlights the need to act on climate change and to contribute in making the earth a better place to live.

WWF-Pakistan will hold special events to commemorate Earth Hour at the National Assembly here, Frere Hall in Karachi and Emporium Mall in Lahore.
