Suspects in Cincinnati club shooting remain at large

Gunmen opened fire at a crowded hip-hop nightclub early Sunday, killing one person, wounding 15 and sparking bedlam as partygoers fled the rampage, authorities said.

For now, just one shooter is wanted for the 2:20 a.m. attack at Cameo nightclub that killed a 27-year-old man, according to police who earlier said there were multiple attackers.

Lt. Paul Neudigate, the assistant police chief, told NBC affiliate WLWT that numerous witnesses tried to get out of the club immediately after shots were fired, but he said investigators are interviewing those they've been able to identify.

Cincinnati Police Department Assistant Police Chief Paul Neudigate said there is no indication the shooting was linked with terrorism.

Police still don't have a description of the suspects and Capt. Kimberly Williams said they were having trouble getting witnesses to cooperate on the scene.

No arrests had been made hours after the shooting took place around 1 a.m. EDT (0600 GMT) as hundreds of people partied inside Cameo Nightlife.

This is the third shooting at this nightclub since 2015.There was one in September and one on New Years. However, the police didn't say if anyone was in custody as of now. The gunman, who is believed to have acted alone, is still at large, and though his motive is not yet clear, terrorism is not suspected.

Long the mantra of the EU, the "ever closer union" pointed toward a seamless continent and an economic and political juggernaut. In Britain, the marches are more protest against Brexit than mere celebration of Europe - and of course, the paint was out.

Williams added a detail of four security officers were outside the club, but none were inside of the venue when the shots were fired.

Police said numerous witnesses fled the scene after the shooting, but they are still searching for club-goers that saw what happened.

"What we know at this point in the investigation is that several local men got into some type of dispute inside the bar, and it escalated into shots being fired from several individuals", Isaac says.

One victim died and another was said to be in critical condition. "Numerous witnesses fled, but everyone that we can identify is being interviewed", he said.

On certain nights the club admits people age 18 and above.

Cameo has a history of violent incidents, WLWT reported. "Ohio Gov. John Kasich wrote on Twitter, "[I was] saddened to learn about last night's shooting" and that he was offering the state's assistance with follow-up.
