Brother urges public to keep sharing missing Elizabeth Thomas' photo

An ambert alert has been issued for Elizabeth Thomas, 15, who Tennessee authorities believe went missing with Tad Cummins (not pictured), a 50 year old teacher who was accussed of sexual misconduct with Thomas. A former teacher allegedly kidnapped the high school freshman last Monday, triggering an ongoing AMBER Alert in Tennessee and Alabama.

Cummins was believed to be armed with two handguns, Fox 17 Nashville reports.

Elizabeth is described as 5 feet, 5 inches tall, weighing 120 pounds, with hazel eyes.

Thomas was last seen when she was dropped off at a Shoney's restaurant in Columbia between 7:30 and 7:45 a.m. on Monday.

"Thomas is believed to be in the custody of 50-year-old Tad Cummins, a white male who stands 6'0" and weighs approximately 200 pounds, and has brown hair and eyes.

On March 13, video surveillance at a Columbia gas station showed Cummins filling up his silver Nissan Rogue.

"Having now been on the run for more than five days, Cummins may have taken her, frankly, anywhere", the TBI said.

The school district's investigative report said Elizabeth said Cummins had never kissed her nor made her feel uncomfortable.

District Attorney General Brent Cooper announced Friday that Cummins also faces an aggravated kidnapping charge.

In a news release, the TBI said Cummins may be keeping Elizabeth out of sight of authorities, possibly sleeping in his vehicle or in a rural community.

Cummins' wife, Jill, pleaded with him to return Elizabeth safely.

Authorities told News 2 there is evidence that Cummins had been making plans to "live off the grid". "One day you will find someone who can't imagine living their life without you".

"We all love you very much and we miss you. the house is not the same without you here. Please do the right thing and turn yourself into the police and bring Beth back home".

Jason Whatley says the 15-year-old's father hired him to help keep Tad Cummins away from his daughter amid allegations he had sexual contact with her.

Cummins has now been added to Tennessee Bureau of Investigation's 10 Most Wanted List, and a $1,000 reward is being offered.
