Buckingham Palace replies to rumours that the Queen is dead

It is reported that the 90 year-old royal was recovering from a severe cold, which caused her to miss the Christmas Day services as well.

Elizabeth also missed the Christmas church service last week for the first time in decades.

Although Philip, 95, attended the ceremony after making a full recovery, the Buckingham said that Elizabeth was "still recuperating".

Phillip, Prince Edward and Princess Anne reportedly attended the New Year's Day church services with their families as the Queen recovered.

The Duke of Edinburgh was driven to the St Mary Magdalene Church.

The false rumors saddened a lot of people after a false BBC news account announced her alleged death and was shared during the breaking news on that Thursday evening.

As The Queen didn't make her appointment at Christmas Mass, the public feared for the worst as a BBC News UK account tweeted a story saying the matriarch had died.
