Young Boy with Heart Condition Gets Christmas Wish Granted, Meets Cam Newton

Taylor Deckard, 10, who has a life-threatening heart condition and is set to undergo surgery to address it, had just one wish for Christmas: Meet Cam Newton. Newton made his wish come true.

Yesterday, in what might have been the best belated gift in the world for Taylor, his wish came true.

One of Deckard's teachers, Courtney Cooper, started a social media campaign she hoped would unite Deckard with Newton, the boy's favorite player.

The post reads: "Just before Thanksgiving, I was headed to an Auburn football game".

"I thought I had an unknown number but dude I've gotten about 100 calls about you", Newton told him.

The Auburn Tigers also captured the touching moment on their Snapchat.

Italy's Monte dei Paschi bank shortfall reaches $9.2bn
The bank's shares remained suspended from trading Tuesday at the request of Italy's stock market regulator. On 21 December, the bank revealed that it could run out of funds by next April, using up almost €11bn.

Newton entered the boy's hospital room and Taylor stood up and gave him a big hug, without wanting to let go.

Newton spent a few hours with Deckard, and part of the time was spent playing with Nerf guns, Panthers.com reported.

Cooper said although she is ecstatic Newton came to visit Austin, what she is most thankful for the support for Austin during his battle.

Austin is expected to have the stent implanted on Friday.

As 2016 continues to suck even at the very end, at least we have stories like this to give us hope in the world.
