Taylor Swift Surprises WWII Vet with 'Shake it Off'

Pop superstar Taylor Swift stunned a United States army veteran when she turned up at his house on and performed a surprise gig.

His name is Cyrus Porter, a 96-year-old WWII veteran. A video features Swift performing "Shake It Off" for the family, which prompted a singalong. He is battling cancer, but had hoped to see Taylor at least one more time in his life.

A long-time fan, Porter is also known as "Swifty" within the local community, and had been previously raving about the singer to local news outlet KFVS news.

"Look what she does, she puts on a show no one else puts on", he said in a recent interview with KFVS-TV.

"Yeah, I just enjoy it, I'm getting old", he said.

You'd expect Taylor Swift's fan following to be limited to teenagers and maybe 20 somethings.

Another family member, Caroline Fowler, shared her bliss to the news site upon meeting the family's idol.

Swift spent about an hour talking with Porter and his family. "I've been to two [of her] concerts".

Porter's grandson posted several photos of the visit to Twitter, along with the caption, "Taking selfies, holding babies, hugging grandpas and leaving lipstick marks". I would as soon go see her right now as anybody!'
