Seven Penguins Die At Troubled Calgary Zoo In Suspected Mass Panic

Employees at the Calgary Zoo made a horrifying discovery Thursday morning: seven dead Humboldt penguins, all apparently drowned in a 3-feet-deep pool.

According to the zoo, the birds were in a holding area.

Jamie Dorgan, Director Animal Care at the Calgary Zoo said they have launched a full investigation to find out what caused these penguins to die, and "prevent further incidents like this from happening again". But, really, we're speculating at this point.

Europe's central bank keeps economy on life support for another year
In France, National Front leader Marine Le Pen is expected to make it past the first round of presidential voting in April. Consumption has been driven a jump in disposable income due to oil price falls and loose European Central Bank policy.

Cigarettes Are Dangerous to Children, Surgeon General Says
The nicotine, sometimes called e-juice or e-liquid, comes in flavors like blueberry cheesecake, cereal milk and Havana rum. But again, the people who smoke e-cigarettes say it does just the opposite - it gets them off of regular cigarettes.

A look at every past Person of the Year from Time magazine
Vice President Joe Biden was honored with an emotional bi-partisan tribute on the Senate chamber floor on December 7. On the cover announcing its choice , Time Magazine has the caption "President of the Divided States of America".

The penguins ranged in age from eight months to seven years old.

In 2013, a handful of penguins, including a three-year-old Humboldt named Junto, were killed after a deadly bacterial infection swept through the enclosure. "We are really digging to find evidence", Dorgan told The Calgary Herald about what happened to the seven penguins.

"If one or two birds were in a bit of panic, everyone could have just got in the mix and perhaps they were getting worked up in the pool". "You know, all the animals at the zoo are family members for our staff". In February, an otter drown after getting tangled in a pair of trousers given to it as a present by a zookeeper.
